The Beginning

I was born on October 20th, 1993.

In a hospital located somewhere in Oklahoma City.

My parents already had two boys, so they were trying for a girl

But they had learned soon enough, that they wouldn’t be buying me pearls.

They wanted a girl named Katie, but got a boy named Cade instead.

I was 20.5 inches long and weighed 8.8 ounces, most of it was my head.

I was born into a loving family that prayed for me each day

I would not want it any other way, so all of this to say.

That Danna was the best mom, and Kim was the greatest dad,

And I have two amazing older brothers, Adam and Chad.

We all have had our ups and downs, but can say we’re doing well.

But this is just the beginning, of an unravelling tale.
